Core Values

As a body of believers, we desire to center our lives around Christ and His teachings. In order to focus that effort, we have identified five values that our church considers foundational. While this is not an exhaustive list of our beliefs or values, they do represent some of the things we hold dear as a congregation. Below each statement is a brief explanation that is designed to provide additional information to aid in understanding some of the background and thinking that went into the formation of the statement.

We value God-focused worship (Romans 12:1)

  • We understand that worship is a corporate, inter-generational family experience
  • We believe that authentic worship can occur in many styles and is due to an active engagement with God
  • We value worship that is Spirit-filled (God-controlled), which leads to a deeper commitment to fulfilling God’s purposes in the world
  • We intend to provide opportunities for private worship and devotional experience with the Lord throughout the week
  • We understand that all service flows from our worship of God

We value the intentional process of equipping people (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)

  • We intend to provide opportunities for spiritual formation and development
  • We expect our church leadership, families, and individuals to be intentionally engaged in the process of becoming more like Christ
  • We intend to develop in our people skills necessary to minister to the world
  • We intend to identify and faithfully serve the good of the body through the spiritual gifts endowed to us by God

We value the nurturing of all people (Ephesians 3:16-19; Hebrews 10:24-25)

  • We intend to provide opportunities for spiritual, emotional, and physical health–the act of becoming whole in who we are in Christ
  • We intend to support and encourage those who are hurting and struggling
  • We intend to rejoice and celebrate who we are and the freedom we have in Jesus Christ
  • We are committed to the building of community inside and outside the walls of the church

We value communicating the gospel to all lost people (John 3:16; Matthew 28:18-19)

  • We intend to build authentic relationships with non-believers
  • We intend to demonstrate the message of Christ through our commitment to transformed living
  • We intend to provide opportunities to engage in missions as a corporate body, in family units, and as individuals

We value meeting people’s physical needs in order to share the hope found in Christ (Matthew 25:40)

  • We intend to educate our people about local and global missions
  • We intend to support missions through serving, giving, and praying
