Sunday School – Age-graded Bible study groups provide the perfect opportunity for significant relationships to develop between believers and seekers. We use “Bible Studies For Life” curriculum throughout all age divisions in our church. Our thought is that it is helpful for all of our people to study the same material. We believe that this will afford our people the opportunity to pursue meaningful conversations around the material studied with folks across the entire body. The materials that are used by our teachers are prepared specifically for the age-group that they are leading. These materials are focused on Bible teaching and Application.
Sunday School is designed to provide entry-level Bible study for those who are wanting to learn more about the Christian message. These lessons are also relevant for believers who are wanting to develop their faith. These groups are the primary evangelistic ministry at Lafayette. You are welcome to join us each Sunday morning at 10:50 am after worship.
Welcome Center – This is the place for guests to come on Sunday morning who are needing assistance in finding directions to Sunday School or Bible Study Groups, child care, and the worship center. The Welcome Center is staffed by people who are ready to serve the needs of our guests.
Decision Assistants – We have several trained people who are available during the worship service to assist those who are making important spiritual decisions. They provide guidance in completing the Decision Registration Form and they welcome the opportunity to pray with those seeking spiritual direction.
Baptism Class – This class is for those who are preparing to be baptized. This one session class reviews the biblical understanding of baptism along with the process of baptism so that those being baptized will have an informed and meaningful experience.
Vacation Bible School – This annual summer event provides children a week of Bible-based learning activities that are designed to introduce the basic elements of the gospel message. It is open to children 4 years of age through 6th grade. Beginning relationships with families in our community through Vacation Bible school is an important part of this fun-filled week.
Other Events – The Evangelism Council plans other evangelism events throughout the year. These may be big events like a Block Party or smaller undertakings like the showing of videos or films that are intended to provide training and encouragement to members of the body in their personal evangelistic efforts. LaFayette Baptist has always believed that we reach people best by building a relationship in which spiritual conversations can take place.
