This choir leads morning worship and is open to adults of all ages and youth. Choir practice is on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the Music Suite to prepare for Sunday morning worship services as well as special events presented throughout the year. The choir does not require an audition or the ability to read music, but members should be able to match pitch and sing simple melodies.
We read scripture each week in Worship. We love to have readers of all ages serve in this area of worship leadership.
Ushers arrive early on Sunday mornings to hand out bulletins. They also assist with receiving the offering during the Worship Through Giving portion of our service.
This auditioned group for adults leads in morning worship and special worship events. Rehearsal times vary.
Preschool and Children’s Music
Preschoolers and school-age children gain a greater appreciation for music and its role in worship through developing musical skills and understanding in a variety of settings at LaFayette Baptist Church. Preschoolers and Children learn music through playing instruments, moving and singing in Sunday School and discipleship as well as seasonally singing in worship.
Instrumentalists and Soloists
There are opportunities for persons who play and sing to use their talents in worship! Interested persons should contact the Pastor of Music and Worship to audition and for more information.
Acting, props, costumes, and a variety of other specialized tasks enhance our worship experiences periodically on Sunday mornings and seasonally. Persons are needed for all areas of the drama ministry.
Occasionally someone will lead a group in creative movement to a song during worship.
Sound and Multi-Media Ministry
This important group offers behind-the-scenes support to the Worship Ministry. This includes the recording of worship services, providing audio control for speakers and musicians, and multi-media presentations for Sunday services and special worship experiences.
