Missions and Outreach.

Missions at LaFayette Baptist Church

The Missions Ministry of Lafayette Baptist Church seeks to glorify God by educating believers about missions, supporting the ministry of missionaries, and touching the world with the hope of Christ through meeting physical and spiritual needs.

Educating Believers About Missions

In order to be effective in world missions, we must know and understand the world and the necessary strategies to reach it. The Missions Ministry has the responsibility to educate the church concerning its mission responsibility and what Baptists are doing throughout the world for the cause of Christ.

Supporting the Ministry of Missionaries

An integral part of what we do at LBC is to support various ministries and entities throughout our town, state, and world. We do this by supporting through prayer and financial giving.

Our church partners with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Welcome House Network for refugees, and a number of other partnerships in and around Fayetteville.

Touching the World with the Hope of Christ

This is what distinguishes us from other world-wide helping organizations. Others may relieve human suffering and help offer a better life to the hurting masses of the world. But the church also offers the hope of Christ. The Missions Ministry is always seeking to tie its work to the gospel message.

Mission Opportunities

The Missions Council is tasked with promoting and encouraging the members of LaFayette to be involved in all aspects of Missions. They plan and promote opportunities for “hands-on” missions for the church as a whole. But, they are also encouraging groups, families, and individuals to discover how their gifts, abilities, and passions might be used to support other wonderful ministries in our community and beyond.

Little Free Pantry

Our Little Free Pantry was started as an Eagle Scout project to help support those in need within our community. People who are in need of food and other items are welcome to stop by at any time and take what they need. Also, people who may have the means to share with others in our neighborhood are welcome to drop off items in the pantry as well. The Little Free Pantry is located near our back parking lot.

Serve Breakfast at Operation InAsMuch

LaFayette Baptist has been a long-time partner with Operation InAsMuch, a local nonprofit that began as a tangible ministry to reach out to “the least of these.” We have rotating teams that meet quarterly to serve breakfast to people who are homeless at the mission lodge downtown Fayetteville .

If you would like to volunteer and serve breakfast, please contact the church by calling (910) 425-1306, email at lbc@lafayettebaptist.org, or sign up on our events page..

Helping Hands Homeless Ministry

Jesus says in Matthew’s Gospel, “‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” (Matthew 25:40. NIV)

Our Helping Hands Ministry seeks to serve people who are homeless by meeting in downtown Fayetteville. This is a partnership with other local churches to help people in our community. A hot meal is provided, along with any clothes that are needed. A message is shared with the people who come about the good news of Jesus.

We will meet on the second Friday of each month. If you are interested in helping with this important ministry, please contact the church by calling (910) 425-1306, email at lbc@lafayettebaptist.org, or sign up on our events page.

Community Garden

Our Community Garden was created as a means to provide fresh food to those living near the church. The produce harvested from the garden is freely given to our neighbors, local charities, and homebound members. If you share a love of gardening, being outside, and getting your hands dirty, then the community garden is a great way to volunteer!
